My current favorite hair products

Hello folks I’m back with a current favorites and this time I will be talking about hair products. Now let me give you a rundown of my hair. I do relax my hair often. The way my hair is cut, I like for the shaven sides and back to be smooth and laid down. The top of my hair is long and I like volume in that area. So I relax the sides and back on a regular basis and the top once in a while. I use whatever relaxer that’a on sale. I’m not too picky since I do it so often anyway, I will even use a kids relaxer. My hair is slightly coarse and sometimes dry. So since I use this chemical on my hair so often I try to be nice to it the rest of the time with good products to keep my hair managed and heathy. I wash my hair once a week so these products last me quite a while. I cowash which means washing my hair with conditioner instead of shampoo. The only time I use shampoo is when I am relaxing my hair and I just use the neutralizing shampoo that comes in the box. Hands up to all the kitchen beauticians out there WOOP WOOP!!!!!

My favorite brand right now it Ogx. I’ve seen this brand at Walgreens and Ulta. I usually buy it at Ulta when there is a BOGO half sale or when I have a coupon. They can be kinda pricy ( around $8-$10 for 13 oz of shampoo) for the such small containers they come in but I think it is totally worth it. They have different types to suit your specific hair needs. Like coconut milk or water, argan oil, shea butter, vitamin e, b5, and others that keeps your hair straight, curly, color treated, and moisturized to name a few. They also have bath and body products that i’m loving as well. So you sill see a few of these great products in this post. So let us begin!!

These are my favs of the moment. Starting with conditioners!!!

Macadamia Natural oil flawless cleansing conditioner
Macadamia Natural oil flawless cleansing conditioner

This is a great cleansing conditioner. My mom got a deluxe sample in her Burchbox and we have been hooked. Since I ran out of my Wen cleansing conditioner (which I still loveeee) this is the one I have been using. I found the full size at TJ Maxx for $10 which is a steal (regularly around $30) but they also carry it at Ulta.

OGX Smooth hydration argan oil & shea butter conditioner
OGX Smooth hydration argan oil & shea butter conditioner

This is a new addition to my favs. I just recently got this, used it once, and already loving it. Your hair is so smooth even while still wet. And it makes your hair easier to comb through while wet.

Carol's Daughter black vanilla leave in conditioner
Carol’s Daughter black vanilla leave in conditioner

I love this for when my hair is wet or dry. When my hair is dry it’s a great refresher and softens the hair. Especially when I work out everyday and need fresh hair after a day or two of using dry shampoo because it dries up the oils in my hair and I need all the oil I can get.

Next up is hair dressings lol:

OGX renewing argan oil of Morocco extra penetrating oil for dry & coarse hair
OGX renewing argan oil of Morocco extra penetrating oil for dry & coarse hair

This oil is applied when hair is wet and then blown dry. This oil is really silky and smells amazing. I love this oil. Leaves my hair silky and light. I have also use it while my hair was dry and it’s till amazing.

OGX ever straight brazilian therapy flat iron spray
OGX ever straight brazilian therapy flat iron spray

This was the first product I purchased from this brand that I tried and it is the best item on the shelves!!!! I section off my hair, spray a small section, and flat iron the section. My hair is bouncy and straight. Leaves your hair looking like you just got a Brazilian blowout!!! Yes ma’am.

Josie Maran 100% argan oil
Josie Maran 100% argan oil

I use this everyday to keep moisture in my hair and keep it managed in between washes. I also sometimes put this on my face at night for a overnight deep moisturizer. Very lightweight on the hair and skin.

Left: Brush strokes wave brush #217004 right: OGX ever straight brazilian keratin therapy relaxing balm
Left: Brush strokes wave brush #217004
right: OGX ever straight brazilian keratin therapy relaxing balm

These two are the best way for me to smooth down my tapered sides and back of my style. The smoothing balm is the bomb. It softens and lays down my short hairs. After I apply the smoothing balm I then brush down my hairs.

Okay loves that’s is all the hair products that I have been loving. Thank you for stopping in. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe!!!

NYX Wonder Pencil in light/clair
NYX Wonder Pencil in light/clair

This product can be used multiple ways and comes in a few different shades. This can be a skin brightener for under the brow bone or under eyes. I use it in the waterline of my eyes. It brightens the eyes without being as noticeable than a white liner. Its very creamy and I love it for an everyday look.

Lancome Les Sourcils Definis brow pencil in Auburn
Lancome Les Sourcils Definis brow pencil in Auburn

The name of the this brow pencil makes it sound soooo fancy, Les Sourcils Definis!!!! It’s an amazing thin brow pencil. But that’s just what it is, a brow pencil. It stays all day and gives the perfect natural brow. The name just sounds like it can valet my car when I get home from a long day of working. No ma’am you gotta pull in the driveway yaself sorry. This is my second pencil and I about died when the first one ran out. I mean like going out in my pajamas crazy, but I managed to get dressed before I high tailed it to the mall to see my gyrl Judy for a new one. March Ipsy unboxing

So I have been subscribed to ipsy for a few months and the first few months I was not liking it at all. The products were not as fab as the bag they came in. What is ipsy?? Ipsy is a monthly subscription that gives you 4-5 deluxe samples and a small makeup bag for only $10 a month. If there is anything you like from the bag, you can go on their site and purchase the full size for a discount. To get products to you liking, you take a personality quiz and based on the results your bag will reflect your personality. There are tons of subscription boxes out there like other cosmetic boxes, healthy snacks, dog treats, clothes, shoes, mens razors, the possibilities are endless. My mom receives burchbox which so far she has been loving every month. So this month I decided to show you lovely folks what was in my ipsy bag and my initial thoughts on the products.

So the products I received in my pretty blue floral makeup bag is:

NYX butter lipstick in pops
NYX butter lipstick in pops

NYX butter lipstick in #17 pops. Very creamy and a very pretty nude/mauve/pink color. two swipes across your lips and BAM!!! Very moisturizing.

Bottom swatch: Marsh mineral eyeshadow in fifty shades
Bottom swatch: Marsh mineral eyeshadow in fifty shades

Marsk mineral loose eyeshadow in fifty shades. Beautiful slate grey with hints of blue. Very pretty and pigmented and the formula is really soft. Also a little goes a long way.

Dr. Brandt Pores No More anti aging mattifying lotion
Dr. Brandt Pores No More anti aging mattifying lotion

Dr. Brandt pores no more matifying lotion. It really does leave you matte. I would use this more as a primer that a lotion. Or on its own without makeup to give the skin a finished look. The smell isn’t great (medicated smell) but if it works oh well. Plus the smell goes away lol.

Bottom swatch: Evelyn Iona Concealer in flawless medium ivory
Bottom swatch: Evelyn Iona Concealer in flawless medium ivory

Evelyn Iona concealer in Flawless medium ivory. I had to look on Ipsy’s website to see what this was. It is so thin and shiny I thought it was a lipgloss. I have no idea how to use this as a concealer because it is so sheer and greasy. Absolutely no color payoff. Two huge thumbs down.

Sexy Hair Soy renewal blow dry cream with Argan oil
Healthy Sexy Hair Soy renewal blow dry cream with Argan oil

This hair product in nice. Very moisturizing just from applying it to the back of my hand. I can tell right off the bat that it has argan oil just by the silky feel of it. I can’t wait to use this dry or wet hair before blow drying it into my hair. Smells amazing!!!

Well that’s all of my Ipsy bag. If you decide to subscribe to the tipsy bag let me know and tell them that I sent you 😉 Thank you all for stopping in for a good ole chat sesh.

Products I’ve used up Pt 2

Hello all the fabulous people out there!!!! I’m back for another edition of lets rifle through my beauty trash AKA products I’ve used up. Now some of these things are repetitive, but a girls gotta wash daily, so don’t be alarmed there are plenty of goodies in this sack. So I woke up this morning to get ready for church only to realize I was already an hour late when I got up. So instead of getting the stink eye from my cousin Maica all the way to my seat (second row btw) I decided to stay in and do some much needed laundry and blogging. Hey I’m listening to Tye Tribbett while I’m blogging so that totally counts. Right?? ANYWAY on to my personals. This is stuff that have been accumulated since the last timeI did a products I’ve used up. So lets get right into it shall we!!!!

All my junk in its glory!!!!!
All my junk in its glory!!!!!
Bath and Body Works body wash in Eucalyptus spearmint
Bath and Body Works body wash in Eucalyptus spearmint

One of my favorite body washes all year round. I mainly use this body wash at night after work because eucalyptus is very calming. Mixed with the spearmint and I almost fall asleep in the shower lol.

EOS shave lotion in pomegranate rasberry
EOS shave lotion in pomegranate rasberry

In Pt 1 I have the vanilla scent which is my favorite because it is really subtle, but walgreens were out (which they normally are) this is my second choice. These are super moisturizing on the skin after you shave which is great especially with this horrid winter here on the east!!! BTW whoever keeps shaking this snow globe that I live in, when I find you, you will be punched in the throat!!!!!

Dove clear tone anti-perserant
Dove clear tone anti-perserant

Dove is the only deodorant that I use because its so good. My whole family lives by it (my brother only uses the womans version because he said the mens isn’t good shhhh). This on goes on clear and keeps you smelling clean all day and NO DEO BALLZ!!!

Onyx prefessional pure acetone nail polish remover
Onyx prefessional pure acetone nail polish remover

I use a lot of glitter polish and this works great for removing that. Acetone is drying on your nail beds so after I finish off with the Josie Maran whipped argan oil on my hands afterwards.

Yardley London body wash in honey almond
Yardley London body wash in honey almond

Two yes two of these bad boyz!!!! This is my holy grail body wash. It smells amazing and it’s really moisturizing. Did I mention it smells amazing?? Yeah, well it does. It comes in a few different scents but this and  mango lily are my favs.

Lancome Tonique Radiance toner
Lancome Tonique Radiance toner

I will always repurchase this product. My skin loves it. This toner has witch hazel (great for breakouts0 and glycerin (great for oily skin). Which makes it a match made in heaven. I love the way it feels on my skin, it kinda tingles.

peroxi clear contact solution
peroxi clear contact solution

My sisters call this my science project. Its an odd solution but I love it. It has peroxide in it so you have to leave your contacts in it for at least 4hrs. If you put them in your eyes before that time you will pay big time, trust me I’ve done it and it burns like a motha!!! it bubbles while it’s cleaning and when its done its like a brand new pair of contacts.

Lancome Definicils Mascara
Lancome Definicils Mascara

One of my favorite mascaras by Lancome. This is their #1 mascara and it proves itself every time. The brush grabs every lash with such ease. it gives great length and definition. Not a mascara for volume but combined with a volumizing mascara, this mascara can make some thangs happen!!!

Lancome Aqua Vital moisturizer
Lancome Aqua Vital moisturizer

Holy grail status here folks. This is the perfect moisturizer for combo/oily skin. It’s a gel moisturizer so it soaks right into the skin which is perfect for oily skin. Creams sit on the skin which is perfect for normal/dry skin but makes combo/oily more oily. Which is a huge no no. No breakouts or frying an egg on my forehead with this gem.

Lancome High resolution night cream (sample size)
Lancome High resolution night cream (sample size)
Lancome multi vital night cream (sample size)
Lancome multi vital night cream (sample size)

These two moisturizers are great for all skin types because they are night creams. And since we all wash our faces when we wake up, right, this gives the proper moisture and repair as I sleep.

Clinique toner #3
Clinique toner #3

This is my backup toner when I am out of my Lancome Tonique Radiance. This is also great when I am having bad breakouts because it has salicylic acid in it.

Lancome Tient Miracle pen #3
Lancome Tient Miracle pen #3

This is and amazing light highlighter. Very lightweight and great for under eye, at least thats what I use it for. I use a lighter shade for highlighting. You can also get your actual shade for touch ups. ver small and convenient to throw in you makeup or overnight bag and head out the door.

ELF concealer stick in beige
ELF concealer stick in beige

This is an item that I repurchase and keep backups of. This is an amazing creamy concealer. I use it to highlight under eye and bridge of my nose. fuller coverage and very blendable.

Mac Fix+
Mac Fix+

I have already repurchased and halfway through another bottle. This is a very versatile product. I use it to set my makeup, keep my powder from looking powdery, uncake my foundation, give my skin a healthy glow, and to make my shadows look foiled. all around a great product.

The Balm lipgloss in rose #7
The Balm lipgloss in rose #7

very pretty rose gloss and great on top of any lipstick color. Not sticky and the smell is nice. This particular color is ver pigmented.

Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara in Black
Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara in Black (sample size)

This is an okay mascara. It’s very black but I prefer Lancome better. The brush is nice but the formula makes my lashes clump and I don’t have a lot of lashes to begin with. I got it in a free gift with purchase and wanted to use it up.

So folks that is all for my beauty trash this time. Let me know what else you would like me to talk about, products to review, or anything in the comments. Thanks for stopping by and hearing my chatter on this here intranet!!!!
