Fall Five pt 4

Hello my favorite beauty obsessed individuals. Today I felt the need to whip out the warning rules of the beauty world. I already have this posted titled “5 places to never store your products,” and since I’m incorporating this into my fall five series on here and my YouTube channel, I thought I will repost it. I have come here to save your life from all things gross. But I am also here with the product life raft to save the day.

Now I know for most of us, storage is scarce these days especially in this economy and the increase cost of housing. Seems like apartments are getting smaller and the rent just keeps hiking up to the sky. It’s like wanting a pair of Sam Edelman leather thigh high boots and only being able to afford a pair of adidas slip ons. Tragic I know, I know. When it comes to small spaces and trying to create proper storage for life, I understand the stuggle. When living in NYC, I witnessed first hand the real estate price of a closet in a basement that is labeled as a spacious garden studio apartment. Yeah right!!

Although space can be an issue, there are just some places beauty products should not live. Wheather you love high end or drug store, no one wants to throw away a product before its expiration date. This is the simple list that I have compiled. I’m sure there are other areas. If you know of any other places you should not store your products, comment below.

Windowsills

Windowsills are a great place to store books, figurines, cats. But not a place for your beauty products, Specifically perfumes. The light can change the scent of a fragrance, and can even cause it to spoil. The sun can also cause foundations to oxidize, melt lipsticks, and even dry out pencil and gel products prematurely.

Bathrooms

In college I always seen girls keep their beauty products on the bathroom sink. I then realized that my mom does it as well. For the love of all things pigmented, do not do this. Your bathroom is constantly in a warm moist (gosh I hate that word, moist eek) breeding ground for bacteria. So now your beloved Charlotte Tilbury micro powder that you just ripped open the box is now becoming a rapid growing petri dish. I know this sounds a bit harsh but these things go on your face and near your eyes so it’s best to be safe.

Fridges

Now there is a few exceptions to this rule. If you need to repair a broken lipstick, make a melted lipstick solid again, cool under eye or face sheet masks that are sealed, or to prolong the life of you nail polish. That’s probably the only reasons to use a fridge for makeup. And even with that, things like lipstick should only be placed in there for a short period of time. Have you ever put a cut onion in the fridge and the next day the whole fridge smells like onion and foods even taste like it too? Yeah this can happen to you makeup as well. Food smells and releases chemicals that can transfer to your beauty products. Not to mention that green pepper that you forgot about in the back of the fridge way out of eyesight, is now growing penicillin and that is not good for anything let alone you $40 Laura Mercier loose setting powder. Yuck unless you like your face to smell like left over Indian Curry

Heaters

Near a heater is horrible for your cream products including lipsticks. Also glass products like face oils and moisturizers will start to lose active ingredients, separate, and begin to smell. What’s the point of forking over money for something that doesn’t work or a holy grail that isn’t performing like it should. We all have that regret drawer and no one wants to add to that pile of disappointment.

Cars

Now I pretty much live out of my car, but I know not to keep my makeup in there. It all started with my favorite Lancôme lipstick in the shade Trendy Mauve that fell out of my purse and ended up in the floor unnoticed by me and by the time I got back into my car that beautiful brand new shade was a goner and I was out $23. Of course I replaced it but not without kicking myself enough to count as my cardio for the week. There was no saving it or my wallet in that tragic incident.

Alright folks that all I have for right now. Now remember, say no to pink eye and cleanliness is next to godliness!! Just kidding, just keep it sanitary so you can stay out of the emergency room. Makeup is suppose to be fun, not turn into the next plague.

Fall Five Pt2

Hello beauty beautifuls. Today I want to do pt.2 of my fall series. This one is products that are really good and are under $5. I love a good product for a great price. I will even buy multiples so that I have them on hand when I run out. Cause you know once the cat is out the bag about an affordable product, poof they’re nowhere to be found. So I have found some that are amazing and can even be dupes for some high end products. Let us dive into the pool of makeup bliss shall we.

Mascara: Jordana best lash extreme (walgreens 3.99). I love this mascara. I try to switch it up with different mascaras but I always seem to go back to this one. I really enjoy high end (lancome Grandious, benefit roller lash) and other drugstore (loreal telescopic) but I can’t seem to let this one go. It doesn’t flake, it last all day, and it doesn’t smudge on my lower lash line. Now I have some very unimpressive eyelashes, but this mascara makes them a contender in the “they aight” lash category.

Blush: Makup Revolution matte blushes (Ulta $5). Makeup revolutionis a UK brand and is now sold at Ulta. This brand has stolen my heart. Their products are affordable and amazing. They are known for their dupes on high end plalettes like the naked palettes. Their blushes are very pigmented. They do have a little bit of powder kickup but that doesn’t bother me because I have to tap some of the pigment off anyway.

Foundation: Wet N Wild Photo Focus foundation (walmart $4.68). This foundation is AMAZING!!! It comes in a good amount of shades. The best part is that they have different undertones as well, and for drugstore that isn’t common. Instead of a pump, it has a spatula which is great to get all of the foundation out of the bottle, but also great to apply a little or a lot without wasting product. Natural semi matte beautiful finish.

Lipstick: Wet N Wild megalast lip color (anywhere $2.67). These are a cult favorite that I haven’t heard anyone talk about in a while. Well these beautiful matte long lasting lipsticks should be praised more. Since liquid lipsticks, people have been throwing traditional lipsticks to the waist side. Not today!! I love these especially in the fall. Creamy and matte without drying out the lips.

Bronzer: NYC Sunny bronzer (anywhere 2.99). Another cult favorite. I have been using this since I got into makeup. I even had this hidden in my book bag in middle school so my mom wouldn’t find it lol. Sorry mom but the lip gloss wasn’t enough #sorrynotsorry. This is a buildable but natural bronzer. Great for no makeup makeup days or to give your bare skin a little life. Gorgeous “slight tan” look.

Concealer: ELF HD lifting concealer. This is a great lightweight concealer to highlight the under eye and the middle of the face. Love this concealer for a natural look. Doesn’t come in a lot of of shades which is horrible but the blendability is great.

Well lovelies those are my 5 under $5 plus 1. I have also attached my youtube video oin this as well. Thank you so much for stopping by. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe here and on my youtube channel.

2017 Pantone colors

Hello my beautiful beauties. Today I have been doing research on the Pantone season colors. Pantone is the institute that name and choose the popular colors of the season in fashion and beauty. Pantone chooses about 10 shades for the two show seasons, fall/winter and spring/summer. So when you see runway shows or makeup palettes from different companies with similar shades, that is why. So pantone is basically in charge of the “It colors” of the season.

This post will show shadow colors from Coastal Scents as an example of what I feel the color shades of Pantone are. Coastal scents is one of my favorite companies for single shadows that they call hot pots. I love them on me and in my kit. They have great color payoff and are very affordable ($1.98 per hot pot).

So lets start with Spring/Summer. Of course spring and summer are bright whimsical colors. But Pantone does add some grounded colors to tie into the pale light colors of what is known as spring. So I’ll be showing you the closest color I could find to the Pantone shade with the name along with Pantone’s color name and a small description of the color. Ready steady GO!!

Spring/Summer 2017

Pantone names: Niagara, Primrose Yellow, Lapis Blue, Flame, Island Paradise, Pale Dogwood, Greenery, Pink Yarrow, Kale, Hazelnut.

Coastal Scents names: Steel Blue, Bright Yellow, Electric Blue, Bright Tangerine, light slate, Pale Nude, Vibrant Lime Green, Persian Pink, Olive, Nude.

Fall/Winter 2017

Pantone names: Grenadine, Tawny Port, Ballet Slipper, Butter Rum, Navy Peony, Neutral Grey, Shaded Spruce, Golden Lime, Marina, Autumn Maple.

Coastal Scents names: Neon Red, Cherry Chocolate, Tea Rose Pink, Kokomo Café, Navy Baby, Ash Grey, Teal Green, Vibrant Lime Green, N/A,  Fools Gold. I couldn’t find a color for Pantone’s Marina. Described as a cool blue almost like a cornflower shade.

28320208_unknown

Well folks those are the 2017 Pantone colors. Now I do tend to be a rebel and switch it up. Rules are meant to be bent right?? Don’t forget to like comment and subscribe.

5 Places to Never store your products

Hello my favorite beauty obsessed individuals. Today I felt the need to whip out the warning rules of the beauty world. My Recent Easy Everyday Makeup

Hello beauties. Today I want to tell you about my super easy, everyday, simple makeup look that I have been doing. It’s more or a “no makeup” makeup look. Lately I have been working a ton and different shifts on top of it, so most days I’m out the door heading to work at 5:30 am. So since I am barely conscience that time of day, I still want to look put together but effortless. Now on some days I will just waitress in the evening and that gives me more time to play. But this has been my majority rules look.

So after my skincare is done, I have been opting for tinted moisturizer. My skin has been a little congested lately because I have been a little under the weather so I want to keep everything light and breathable. With that being said, I have been opting for a BB Cream. I have been grabbing my ELF BB cream in beige, Target $6. This is a gorgeous lightweight BB cream that has really good coverage.

Concealer is also from Elf, it is the maximum coverage concealer in tan, Target $3. I like this under my eyes, around my nose, and any places that need spot concealed. They blend perfectly into the skin.

For an occasional color corrector I have been using the Essence no more redness in the shade green to correct around my nose, Ulta $2.99. I put this on under the Elf concealer. This really cancels out redness. The pencil is super creamy and very blendable.

For bronzer I have been using a cream and a powder. I apply the cream first to lightly contour, set my whole face, then using the powder bronze for an all over bronze. The cream bronzer that I love is the Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Sponge-On Makeup in Cappuccino, $37.50. This product is really creamy and beautiful on the skin. It’s accually a foundation but I love it to contour with. For powder bronzer, I have been loving the matte bronzer in the It cosmetics CC+ radiance palette, It cosmetics website $38. Blends out and gives the skin a nice sun kissed bronze.

To set my entire face I have gone back to my favorite loose powder. The ELF HD powder in sheer, Target $6. This is the translucent shade. I just found that it comes in two other colors, corrective yellow and a light peach color in soft luminance. So I will definitely be picking those up. This powder is so finely milled and a silky texture which is great for setting the face without adding a layer that can cake up on you throughout the day.

Highlighter is one of the things I enjoy in makeup at the moment. Highlight and brows. For highlighter I have been grabbing my Mac mineralized skin finish in soft and gentle, Mac cosmetics $33. It’s a soft glow and beautiful. Now you know I like a glow that you can see from the international space station, but lately I have been living the glow from within look.

My brows are the same when I do full face of light easy looks. The brows are the windows to the face. Also your brows should be sisters not twins. Sometimes mine are strangers on a train to nowhere but oh well, I still love it. The brow pencil that doesn’t let me down is the NYX microbrow in ash brown, Ulta $9.99. I use this alone or in conjunction with a gel, powder, cream, or wax. It’s my holy grail product. Lately I have been growing out my brows a bit so I can change the shape a little and this pencil helps tremendously. To set the brows I have been using the Essence make me brow in browny brows, Ulta $2.99. This is a fiber brow mascara that allows the brow to look fuller without extra product.

Mascara has been the one I go back to over and over again. I keep at least two in my backup drawer. It’s the Jordana best lash extreme in black, Walgreens $3.49. It doesn’t flake or smear.

So that’s my basic easy daily makeup products I have been using lately. Sticking with this will allow me to use up some much needed products. Thank you so much for stopping by. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe.

May Favorites

Hello beautiful beauty lovers. This post is about my May favorites as well as a update/review from my latest new purchases post. Some of those are in my favorites and some I’m still trying out and haven’t formed a full opinion about. Some products take a little longer to figure it out for your skin type and needs.

Lets start with skincare shall we:

TonyMoly brightening bubble foam cleanser. Now I first pick this up for my day time cleanser. Although it is great as a morning cleanser, I recently switched it to my nighttime second cleanse and I have been loving it even more. The foam just really gets in those pores and get all the dirt out that gathered all day and really gets left over makeup. And it smells amazing, very light and clean like fresh laundry (that smell gets me every time loll). I bought this cleanser on a whim because it was on sale at ulta and I’m glad I did. But I wish I bought them all cause I don’t know if they will carry it regularly. #sadpanda

The ordinary Caffeine solutions 5% + EGCG. This is an acid for under the eyes to lessen eye puffiness. It really helps with my puffiness and darkness under the eyes. I apply it AM and PM after I wash and tone my face. Definitely a new addition to my routine.

The Ordinary Niacamide 10% + Zinc 1%. This acid helps with skin aging and the zinc helps with oil control. Adding this to my routine in the AM has really helped with my skin’s oil over production. And it really allows my moisturizer penetrate the skin better in return helps makeup lay on the skin more flawlessly. I apply this Am only after cleanser, toner, and caffeine solution, and before moisturizer. I let it soak into the skin and feel a little tacky before applying moisturizer.

Bliss Drench -N- Quench cream to water moisturizer. This moisturizer smells amazing and soaks into the skin quickly. It almost replaces my Pur Minerals Soak it Up intense hydrating moisturizer, Almost.

Clinic Pore refine solution instant perfector. I use this as a primer on my cheeks to fill in pores. You can use this with makeup or on its own. It blurs the pores like a dream. It has a slight color but it doesn’t show up on the skin.

Base:

Nyx Pro foundation Mixer foundation in white. This is an amazing product. You can mix it with any foundation that is too dark to lighten the shade. It doesn’t change the finish or the coverage of the foundation. You can add this to any liquid product to lighten it. They even have darker shades to darken foundations. There are 6 shades to customize your perfect shade. I will be picking up the other shades when I start building my freelance kit.

Wet -N- Wild photo focus foundation in Desert beige. This is the best foundation I have tried in a while. It is medium to buildable full coverage but yet very lightweight. It is great for everyday. Super easy blend and the applicator makes it so easy to use.

Essence No More Redness Concealer stick in green. This helps combat redness on the skin. I use this around my nose because lately, since introducing acids in to my regimen, My skin around my nose has been a little red. It also helps to keep my foundation stay n my nose throughout the day.

ELF HD concealer in medium is my favorite concealer for my natural slight under eye highlight. So creamy and doesn’t crease badly on me. You wouldn’t know the difference between this and a high end concealer. I find that it is a good dupe for Nars creamy concealer.

It Cosmetics bye bye under eye concealer in medium. I love this to conceal slight darkness under the eye before I apply my foundation. I have the travel size because a little goes a really long way. Creamy but stays in place which is a surprise for a really full coverage concealer. I am impressed.

Lancôme Translucence powder in 400. This is a great lightweight powder with color to set you foundation. It has good pigment but doesn’t add more coverage so you won’t get cakey.

ELF Under eye setting powder. This tiny jar of powder is a big deal. It is a translucent powder with a light hint of pink and a little glow properties to it. Really sets the under eye so no worries on creasing.

Bronzer and highlighter:

The Balm cosmetics Betty loumanizer. This is the brozer of the manizer sisters (Mary loumanizeris the highlighter and Cindy loumanizer is the blush). This bronzer gives the perfect golden bronze glow. Just fresh of the beach bake look, which is kinda my thang.

It Cosmetics CC+ radiance palette. I love each powder in this palette. But I have been really loving and abusing the matte bronzer. It has a beautiful bronze and contour on the skin. I put this on first and then finish with the Betty loumanizer for the perfect easy summer look.

Wet -N- Wild Megaglow Highlighting powder in the shade precious petals. I put this highlighter everywhere because it is so beautiful. I hunted this one and the other one in the shade crown my canopy. I have two of each of these because they were limited edition. They were such a hit they are now a new item and you can find them everywhere. This is the only backup highlighter that I have cause this is THE ONE!!

Brows:

Essence brow gel in the browny brows and Nyx brow gel in brunette. These two are my favorite and only brow gels I use. The Essence has fibers in it so you can use in alone or with other brow products. Apparently everyone else at the ultas I go to knows how great it is, cause they are hard to get. So when the Essence is sold out I reach for the Nyx brow gel. It is just as amazing and I can’t live without either one of those.

Billion Dollar Brows eyebrow duo pencil. This is a very versatile product. I use the darker side to carve out my brows and the lighter side to highlight the inner corners of my eyes and in my waterline. You can also use this to conceal.

Lashes:

Pur cosmetics big lash mascara in black. I use this alone or with my holy grail mascara, Jordana best lash extreme. This mascara is great for the upper lashes. It separates and gives volume at the same time. Top it with the jordana mascara, and you have a full jet black set of lashes.

Ebay bottom lashes. Now these are  bit much for bottom lashes, but I love them for a natural easy top lash. They are whispie and easy to apply/. They come 10 pairs in a pack and I paid less than $3 for them.

Other reviews:

The Ordinary Vitamin C suspension 23% HA spheres 2%. This is great for dark spots. It completely cleared my acne scars that I had on my cheeks. This is the strongest Vitamin C that you can buy over the counter. Since it is a very strong Vitamin C, it is gritty which bothers me. It also really tingles on the skin which I eventually got use to and goes away once you add moisturizer. It also claims to helps the skin glow. I did notice some slight glowage. I only use this while I have a blemish to correct it and about twice a week to keep my freckles from getting too dark or getting more.

The Ordinary Alpha Lipoic Acid 5% concentration. Helps with visible texture. This is to be used no more than 3 times a week. Since I don’t use it everyday it takes a little longer to notice a difference. It took me a while to find the best way to use this. I found, for me, using it at night alone and no moisturizer seems to work best. This product stinks, like a subtle skunk smell, so I use it at night and change my pillow case the next day. Even adding moisturizer in the morning wasn’t getting rid of the smell. It’s very subtle so only you can smell it, at first I thought my perfume went bad loll.

TonyMoly sheet masks. I love these and use them all the time. It is concentrated serum in a sheet mask. It’s great for an at home pamper sesh. I use these about once a week to really kick start my skin. I ran out before I had the chance to take a pic. Oops

Well folks that is all of the things I have been loving lately. Now some things that are my holy grail products are still my favorites, I just feel like I talk about them all the time. Like you know all the feels I have for the NYX micro brow. I could talk about that bad boy all day. Thanks for stopping by. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe.

Scrimp or Splurge

Hello beauties!! Today I want to give you some ideas on budget when it comes to beauty products. Now a lot of us do not have hundreds of dollars every day on the newest products. I am huge on budgets. I work a lot because I like pretty things that glitter lol. So a budget and writing down all my bills, grocery list, to do lists, etc. I’m a big list person. This helps me stay organized and allows me to plan ahead. I had being surprised by a financial responsibility. I get that things happen, I just like to be prepared. So purchasing beauty items is no different. I keep a running list of items I want to buy outside of my regular beauty staples.

I always live by the code of at least 75% of your beauty budget should be on skincare. I’m big on a good solid skincare regimen. A good skincare routine gives you good skin which in turn allows your makeup a great base to sit on.  A great foundation aka skin makes a great sturdy house aka beat face.

So I looked up online what you should splurge on and things you can skimp on. My list is a little different. Which each person should differ from the list, but it is good to have an idea. Based on your skin type and the condition of your skin determines which products you feel you can skimp and splurge on. Example, if you have sensitive skin, your skin may react better to a more pricey/ skin specific cleanser. where someone with normal skin with no issues can use a inexpensive drugstore cleanser. Everyone is different so your list should reflect that. This is a list of essentials

SCRIMP:

The list online:                                                                   my list:

Cleanser                                                                               Cleanser

Moisturizer                                                                         Brow pencil

Makeup remover                                                               Lipstick

Eyeliner                                                                               Serum

Brow pencil                                                                         Foundation

Lipstick                                                                                 Hair tools

SPLURGE:

Online List:                                                                            My List:

Serum                                                                                     Moisturizer

Foundation                                                                            Makeup Remover

Makeup Brushes                                                                   Eyeliner

Hair Tools                                                                               Makeup Brushes

Perfume                                                                                  Perfume

The reason for my skimp list is:

Cleanser literally goes straight down the drain. I like to do my skin treatments in other parts of my routine so a basic cleanser will do. Now that my skin is majority clear, I like a simple cleansers, one for PM and one for AM. My favorite brow pencil is NYX which is very affordable. Lipstick, I don’t use them often enough to invest. My favorite lipstick is Lancôme trendy mauve, but it will last me forever. Serums can be put in either skimp or splurge. It just depends on which ones I’m loving at the moment. Right now I’m loving The Ordinary brand and they are very affordable. The drugstore has been killing it with affordable foundation lately, so I haven’t picked up or been using my favorite higher end foundations. I don’t spend a lot on hair tools because I don’t have much hair loll.

The reason for my splurge list:

I have oily skin so I’m pretty picky when it comes to moisturizer. I love a gel moisturizer and the ones that I like are on the mid pricey range, even the ones at the drug store will run you over $20. Makeup remover that I prefer is a oil or balm cleanser. I use it to melt off my makeup aka first cleanse. My favorite ones I get at Sephora or ulta. The one I loved from the drug store I can’t find so I’m okay with a more expensive one. Eye liner can either be a skimp or splurge if it’s a good quality liner, I’m okay with buying it. I don’t wear eyeliner as much as I use to so I have tons of them to get through. Makeup brushes I have and love high end and low end brushes. I put brushes in the high end category because most of my favorite brushes are high end. Mainly Lancôme. I personally love eau de parfum, which is oil based, more concentrated, and lasts longer on the skin so you don’t use as much, versus an eau de toilette which is alcohol based, lighter fragrance, and fades on the skin faster because alcohol evaporates and oil absorbs into the skin. Since the oil last longer and is a more stronger scent, they are more expensive. I don’t use a lot of body splashes but I still have them around when I feel the urge to splash on a familiar easy scent.

Well folks That is all I have for today. Thank you for stopping by. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe.

Favorite makeup brushes

Hello gorgeous beauty junkies. Today I want to talk about my favorite brushes. I talk lot about my favorite products but never seem to get to what I love to apply them with. I use beauty tools as much as possible because since I am acne prone, I don’t like applying makeup with my hands. Now, some people prefer to use their hands, but I’m not one of them. I will apply most of my skincare with my hands but I will use a beauty spatula to get products out of jar packages to not contaminate it. Now I am a beauty brat so I have two favorites for each area so that I have a back up when the others are getting cleaned. My favorite brand brushes are the ELF black professional line and Lancôme. Two totally different ends of the price spectrum (lancome brushes are mostly natural hair brushes). Other great brands I enjoy are ecotools, real technique, and random no names from ebay. If it’s a good brush, it’s coming home with me loll. So lets jump right in with no specific order shall we.

For liquid foundation there is only one brush that fits the bill for me right not. That is the ELF flat top powder brush ($4). This has been my holy grail brush for liquid foundation for years!! I actually own 4 of this exact brush for back up. Now if I want to switch it up, I will go to a beauty sponge from real technique or earth therapeutics. It is a dense brush which makes buffing foundation into the skin a breeze. It’s even great for buffing primer into the skin as well. The price is unbeatable so why not. I even share the love with this one. Roz boog ( my mom) even has a few.

For eye shadow I love a good crease brush and a lid brush. For the crease I love the Lancôme blending shadow #17 (29.50). Now this brush is expensive but it blends out shadow effortlessly. It is super soft and the long natural hairs makes it easy to bland out any harsh lines. An alternate brush for me is the Luxie 227 blending brush ($12). This one is a little shorter hair but is just as easy as the lancome #17. For the lid I use the ELF “C” brush ($3) which is the perfect size to quickly get color on the lid. Another great one is the Wet n Wild large shadow brush ($1). They are almost the exact same brush.

I haven’t really been into the blush lately. Now don’t get me wrong I love a good rouge on the cheeks (lol mom) but I’ve just been going for the bronzy glow you can see from the international space station look. But when I do hit the cheeks with a little something, I love the ELF complexion brush ($4). It’s a beautiful big soft brush that deposits just the right amount of color. My other favorite is the same shape but a little smaller is the ecotools powder brush ($7.99).

For under eye concealer, if I don’t use a sponge, I like the Lancôme duel ended foundation and complextion brush #26 ($47). This brush is the perfect size to blend out concealer under the eye with the lager side and the smaller side is great for the inner corner of the eye.

To set my under eye I go with the ELF blush brush ($3). I’m not sure why they categorize this brush as a blush brush because it is tiny. Maybe a blush brush for a doll. But it’s great to set the under eye with. The brush is so soft and perfect for that delicate area. Another great one is the Lancôme cheek and contour #25 ($40). Again I don’t know why they would consider this as a cheek brush either but I digress. This brush is great because it is two sided and the smaller side can be used in the inner corner of the eye to set that are. I like the inner corner set well because my eyes sometime water.

For all over face powder, I love a giant soft brush to set my face with a light layer of powder. For this I love my Lancôme powder brush #1 ($48) or the real techniques powder brush ($9.99, sorry no pic cause mom kinda borrowed it and never gave it back js). They both are super soft and so easy to use. Evenly distributes powder without looking cakey.

For bronzer I have been obsessed with the Flower beauty powder brush ($15). It is the perfect size for an easy natural bronzer on the face. Another great one is the Lancôme cheek brush #6 ($43) which is great and more structured shape for contouring as well as bronzing.

Now last but definitely not least, my favorite part of makeup (right now). HIGHLIGHT!!!!! I get my best brushes for highlight on ebay. I mostly like to use fan brushes of almost any size. They are cheap and easy to replace if it’s not the one you like. I’ve found duplicates of expensive Nars brushes and even some natural hair brushes for no more than $5. If you are looking for something specific like a certain shape brush, I think ebay is always a good place to look.

Well folks those are my favorite brushes. Thank you so much for stopping by and don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe!!

Products I’ve used up pt.5 (I think) lol

Hello folks. I think this is like my 5th empties post but I love doing these because it takes going through a entire product to really know whether you like it or not and if it’s worth a repurchase. Plus it’s sometimes hard to get through an entire product when you’re a beauty junkie and have so many things to get through. Some of these are repurchases which shows how much I love them. So lets get to the trash so I can finally throw them away loll!!!

Skincare:

Pur Minerals Soak it up intense moisturizer (Kohls $34.00). I have purchased so many of these I can’t keep count. I love this moisturizer. It soaks into the skin quickly without leaving a film. Great for oily skin. I have purchased a different moisturizer to try out but this one will be back in rotation on a regular basis soon.

Formula 10.0.6 So totally clean deep pore cleanser with salicylic acid acne treatment toner (Ulta $5.99). This is one of my favorite toners. Definitely my favorite drug store one. This deep cleans my pores and balance the PH in my skin keeping breakouts to a minimum. Doesn’t burn just a light tingling feel to the skin.

Elf daily face cleanser is really great for a daytime cleanser (target $6.00). It’s very gentle on the skin. Thin consistency and a light foam so it won’t strip the skin. Great addition for all skin types.

Neutrogena ultra light cleansing oil (walgreens $10.49): I hate this product. The smell is too strong, it burned my eyes, left a film on my skin after rinsing it off, and it took too much work to remove my makeup. I love the original cleansing oil, but I can only find it occasionally at tj maxx. This is a absolute no for me. Yuck!!!

Aveeno clear complexion daily cleansing pads (you can get this at any drugstore but I normally get mine at ulta so that I can get points $7.99): I love these and I always have a jar of these on my bathroom sink. These are great for night time cleansing after removing your makeup aka the second cleanse. They have different types of these cleansing pads, but this one is my favorite because it has salicylic acid in them. These pads have a smooth side and a exfoliating side and is already wet and ready to go. Great for travel.

Foundation:

Estee Lauder double wear light in intensity 4.0 ($39.50): This is a great foundation for spring and summer. light weight version of the infamous double wear that everyone raves about. It has a little less coverage but the same matte finish.  Lasts all day through the toughest of days.

Revlon color stay is a cult favorite ($9.99). This is my moms holy grail foundation. It’s okay but nothing I reach for. I have the color 380 rich ginger which is a good match. I have other foundations that I like better. This foundation made me oily faster than others that I have. Won’t be repurchasing I love the Loreal true match way better.

Revlon nearly naked in 220 natural(discontinued). It laid on the skin beautifully, great finish, and lasted all day. I bought this on a whim and it was gone just as soon as I discovered it. No wonder it was on sale :/.

Lancôme Teint idole ultra 24hr foundation in 420 bisque($47). This is my favorite foundation for a flawless beat nighttime look. Full coverage, last all day, beautiful matte finish.

Brows:

Nyx mircobrow in ash brown ($9.99). Holy grail brow pencil. I always have at least two in my backup drawer. I can’t go without this product. I use it almost everyday. I sometimes switch up my products between pencil, powder, gel, or pomade but this must be on hand at all times.

Lancôme Le crayon poudre in sable ($26.50). I really like this pencil. It last forever!! It’s great for a full brow. The downside is that you have to sharpen it every time you use it to get that sharp tip. I love the skinnier retractable pencil that Lancome has but this is a good option.

Mascara:

Benefit roller lash (full size $24). I really enjoyed this mascara. The rubber bristles really gets into the lashes to separate and curl up. This mascara really does curl the lashes beautifully.

Loreal telescopic ($9.99). I love this mascara for  my bottom lashes and to really separate the top ones. The rubber bristle brush is tiny which is great for precision.

Jordana best last extreme (about $4 depending on store). This is the NYX microbrow of mascara  for me. Two always on backup and can’t live without. Normally I don’t care for bushy wands but this one gives amazing volume.

Estee lauder sumptuous extreme volume mascara in extreme brown ($27.50). This mascara is a absolute no for me. It was too wet, the brush was huge and got mascara all aver my face, color didn’t show up, when it dried it was too crunchy, and flaked all over my face. Horrible!!!!

Maybelline great lash in clear ($5.99). I use this mascara to set my brows. Its great and keep brows in place without added color. Also good to put on before brow powder to help the product stick.

Concealer:

Maybelline Instant age rewind in neutralizer ($8.99). This is a really good concealer to counteract darkness under the eyes, I have repurchased this a few times and really enjoy it. A little goes a really long way.

Nyx HD concealer in CW05 ($4.99). This concealer is really creamy and a dream for under the eye. Full coverage and very blendable. Love this concealer and I always have it in my face  drawer.

Elizabeth Arden flawless finish correcting and highlighting perfecter in #3 ($28). This is a gorgeous highlighting concealer. It is a light weight formula, which is great to use on top of another concealer to give that glow.

Eyeliner:

Rimmel scandeleyes pencil in nude ($3.99). This is a really creamy pencil which is very comfortable in the inner waterline. Doesn’t pull on the skin. Unfortunately the product fell out of the pencil before I had time to finish it. I haven’t repurchased it because I have really been loving the nude pencils from NYX and they have different nude shades which is nice.

Jordana fabuliner liquid eyeliner in brown ($2.99). I love this liner in the brown and the black. The brown is great for a softer eye look. The skinny felt tip is great for making a wing liner and for beginners. So easy to use and last all day on the eye without bleeding.

All righty folks those are all the products that I have used up. It’s always a lot because I try to make an effort to use up things I love mainly to not be wasteful or have too much going to waste and so I can have a reason to go out and buy new or repurchase products lol. oops!! Makeup Tool Review: Molly Cosmetics Silisponge

Beauty junkies this is for you. Today I will be reviewing the iconic overly talked about silicone sponge, the silisponge. You know the one that is all over instagram that was sent out to every person with more that 1,000 followers. This sponge is silicone which is very different from the popular beauty sponges. Well the rest of us seen it, and some of us actually got our hands on it. Since the hype was so real, this little thing was sold out everywhere. I got mine on Molly cosmetics website which was sold out but you could buy it and they would send it out once it came back in stock. It was on sale for $9.90+ $5 S&H and I was able use a coupon code from one of the insta beauty pages Dupethat that gave me a little discount (10% I think). Each order comes with one sponge. These are my pros and cons of this product.

Pros:

This product soaks up ZERO product. since it is a silicone product, there are no pores for the liquid to soak into which saves you tons of monies.

It’s hypoallergenic and does not harbor bacteria.

Easy to clean. Just use mild soap and water. While applying makeup you can just use a makeup or baby wipe when switching from one product to another.

Small, compact, and easy to travel with. No need to get wet for it to be used properly.

No expiration date. Only time it needs replaced if the silisponge gets damaged. It will take a lot for this thing to get messed up. It is very durable.

It is an inexpensive item. It’s almost always on sale and you can find a coupon code to give you some extra savings. Without all that, is still cheaper than the original beauty blender.

Cons:

Shipping took FOR E VER (in my sandlot voice). It took a month to get this in. I understand with the influx of popularity and the fact that they were sold out played a factor in the time, but goodness there are beauty junkies out here needing a fix. Ya killin us.

Takes a little longer to use than a brush or traditional beauty sponge. Where it is silicone, it doesn’t press the product into the skin as easily. you have to use patting motions so that your foundation doesn’t go on streaky. And where to silisponge is small, it doesn’t cover a lot of surface space on the face.

Cannot be used with powder products. Yeah not gon happen. The surface is too slick.

Conclusion:

I like this product and I use it often. I use it when I know I have the time to sit down, turn on some music, and beat the face. I also like to sometimes like to apply my skincare and primer with it when I’m feeling boujie loll. Once I got the hang of it and how much less makeup I needed to use, the easier it was to use. Clean up is a breeze, and my foundation comes out flawless. I can even get my bb creams to have more coverage. Now in a time crunch, I use my ol’ faithful, Elf power brush or earth therapeutics beauty sponge for my foundation.

Well beauty folks that’s my take on the silisponge. Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe.
