Hello fabulous folks. Today I will be sharing my night time skincare routine. I tend to switch up my specific products regularly so that my skin doesn’t get use to the same thing and then causing the product to not work as effectively. For my nighttime routine I use the Korean method of a double cleanse. The first cleanse is specifically designed to break down makeup, dirt, grime, etc. from the skin. Then the second cleanse is to get deep down in the pores and remove anything that was left behind during the first cleanse. These are the products that are currently in my routine. Now like I said before, the specific brand changes but the type of product and the skincare steps stay the same.
Instead of makeup wipes or micellar water, Which I fill causes me to pull on my skin and I don’t like that, I like cleansing oil, balms, or gel to oil. Right now I have been loving the Boscia cool cleansing oil (Sephora $10-$32). It smells so good and doesn’t irritate my eyes when I’m breaking down mascara. It gets even the most stubborn makeup. It doesn’t leave a film on the skin. this can even be used as a single cleanse if you have normal to dry skin.
With this cleanse I go in with a cleanser that doubles as an exfoliator. I’ve been repurchasing this one for a while because it is so good. It is the Altcheck MD exfoliating cleanser (found at Kohls). I first I didn’t think I would like this cleanser because it is a cream cleanser but I love it. it has a really gentle exfoliator. I doesn’t foam so it wont strip the skin. Leaves the skin soft.
I use a toner to bring balance back into my skin, and also to prevent breakouts. I choose a toner with acne medication, which my skin loves salasylic acid. My favorite affordable on is Formula 10.0.6(find at ulta $5.99). It really gets in those pores and help combat any breakouts.
I don’t use a treatment everyday. Glycolic pads I will use every night for about 3-4 days in a row and then give my skin restoring time of another 3-4 days. I have the Bliss incredi-peel spa strength glycolic resurfacing pads (Kohls $49.00 for 30 pads). These will make your skin tingle but it goes away once you add your moisturizer. These help with improving texture on the skin and dark spots.
For my night time moisturizer I like it light but hefty at the same time. Lightweight on the skin but hefty with the moisture. This is when I like to use face oils combined with a light moisturizer. This gives everything all night to soak into other skin and then I wash off any remainder n the am. Since I don’t have to worry about putting any makeup on top, which could cause some slipping, this allows my skin to get enough moisture to wear my body wont have to produce more causing oily skin My combo as of late has been the Aveda all sensitive moisturizer (thus is a sample and I can’t find a price online)mixed with Sculpt 100% argan oil (TJ Maxx $9.99). This combo sinks right into my skin without any greasy feeling.
I use two products under my eyes because this is the thinnest skin on your body and can getdry very easily. When you under eye gets dry, it will look wrinkled. So I use a serum and a moisturizer. For serum I love the Pur tone up total eye fitness (Kohl’s $37.00). This serum tightens the under eye. Then I top it with Aveda Tulasara wedding masque eye (mine is a sample but the full size is $55 and. Am be found online aveda.com). This is intense moisture that leaves your eyes bright and well rested the next morning.
Well folks that is my nighttime skincare routine. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe
I was putting on one of my favorite pair of work pants one morning and they split!!!!! so after work I was still upset so i decided to go for a long walk. I got in my car, and decided to go to my favorite walking location where I can think and plan. So I went for a 2 hour walk……. down the makeup isles of ulta!!!! Hey I walked so it counts lol!!! So I picked up, swatched, and looked at all the new things at ultra and decided to pick up a few things I’ve been eyeing for a while so here we goooooo!!!
I heard Jessica Rose on youtube talk about how great the Ulta matte lip creams are and how nobody ever talks about them. So I decided to check one out. These are amazing!!!! They are so comfortable on the lips.
I know I had to pick up one of these because everyone have been raving about them. I really like these and this color is great. I do enjoy my liquid lipsticks by the Balm better but these are just as nice.
I’ve used this moisturizer before and I absolutely love it. It’s a gel consistency which is great for oily skin. Smells amazing as well. Definitely in my top 5 moisturizers. I picked this one up at Kohls but wanted to add this to my haul. I used my kohl’s cash and birthday kohl’s coupon and got a great deal.
My Ulta finally got makeup revolution!!!!!! woohooooo!!!!! This is a UK makeup line and it is amazingly affordable. So of course I had to get some stuff. This blush is a little darker than the Milani blush in romantic rose, which is one of my favorite blush shades. This goes on beautifully. A little powdery but nothing annoying.
To all the highlight junkies, this is a must have and is only $6!!! This is a beautiful highlighter. It comes in 3 shades which is great. I like to add this to the cheeks as a blush topper and with another bronzier highlighter.
If you love the Urban Decay naked 1 palette but don’t want to fork over $54 for a eyeshadow palette, this is a perfect and exact dupe and only $7!!! Moment of silence…… These shadows are super pigmented and blends like a dream. They also have dupes for the other palettes as well. Run, buy, flourish!!!!!!
This is AMAZING for dark circles!!!!! I don’t have dark circles, but i do get a little dark in the inner corner of my eyes. This peach corrector is amazing for brightening the under eye as well. I put this on under my concealer and it gives me an amazing highlighted healthy glow. FYI great dupe for the Becca under eye brightening corrector and it’s a third of the price.
When Nicole Guerriero from youtube says this is one of her favs and it’s a dupe for the Makeup Forever HD concealer, you know it’s real. I haven’t tried it yet but I can’t wait to give it a go.
I’ve tried and really love this brands acne treatment toner so I decided to get another item from this brand a try. These strips are really great for extracting blackheads around the nose. I also find that these don’t hurt as much as the original pore strips.
This is a mascara sample that I got for my birthday gift from Ulta since my birthday was in February. Haven’t tried it yet but I heard it was good. Suppose to compare to my holy grail Lancome Grandiose mascara so we shall see.
Well folks, those are my latest beauty purchases. Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe.
If you would like to see a makeup collection series let me know. i’ve been thinking of doing it so you all can see my style and get to know me better beauty wise lol
Hello folks!!!! I have been gone for a really long time so the best way I know to come back is to show you products I have used up. My goal this summer was to use up all the half empty items I have in my stash. I wanted to get through a lot of stuff cause there’s no point in having tons of half used products crammed in drawers. and rankly it’s just a waste of money. Also it helps me to not buy more of the same things. So I put mot of the products in categories because I use a lot of the same things just different brands. Now warning: I have a ton of goodies so lets get started.
I enjoyed all of these cleansers. The equate daily cleanser is compared to clearasil daily cleanser and it is one of my favorite cleansers. the Olay facial wipes are perfect for travel. I can’t travel without them, the top box is combo/oily and the bottom box is sensitive skin. They fit perfectly in a sandwich bags and no worry about spilling. The Olay total effects has light exfoliating beads that I loved for everyday use. Not abrasive at all. Also doesn’t foam, which takes some getting use to, but your skin doesn’t feel stripped or tight after washing. I would repurchase all of these again. All of these cleansers except for the sensitive skin has salicylic acid in them which is great for blemish control.
I have been repurchasing the Mary Kay toner since I was in high school, which was a long time ago. It helps clear and prevent blemishes. The Lancome pure focus is perfect for controlling oil. It has a mattifying power at the bottom of the bottle that helps you stay matte and keeps your oils at bay. The H2O toner was just okay. Nothing special. It has sea salt in it which helps keep pores tight.
I’ve learned a while ago that gel moisturizers are best for combo/oily skin during the day. I enjoy cream cleansers at night so that they really do the job while I sleep. I don’t need all that work during the day because I will turn into an oily mess. The beinfait night creams are my favorite night time moisturizer. They have the perfect amount of moisture and I wake up with baby soft skin. The beinfait aqua vital is a gel moisturizer for the day. It smells amazing and it’s my holy grail moisturizer. I didn’t like the boots shine control lotion because it didn’t control my shine or give me enough moisture. Even though I have combo skin, I still want the proper amount of moisture so to privent my skin from creating unwanted oil throughout the day and leaving me a greasy mess. I used to use the Mary Kay time wise moisturizer in high school and it did okay, so I thought, so I decided to give it another try. Now that I know more about skincare, I’ve realized that this moisturizer isn’t for my skin. It leaves a film on my skin that causes me to get oily fast. No Ma’am!!!!! I also love the cinique moisture sure. It’s the same concept as the Lancome aqua vital both are gel moisturizers. WIN WIN
these two together are a match made in under eye heaven. Absolu yeux is an eye serum that restores the thin skin under the eye. It has no moisture, just concentrated treatment. I then add the high resolution eye cream on top which seals in the serum and leaves the under eye glowing and soft. I would love to repurchase the absolu jeux but it is very expensive. I’ll definitely be saving up for another one though.
The Altchek night serum and the Lancome visionnaire claim to do the same thing, even skin tone, lighten darkspots, demise the appearance of pores. The Visionnaire really showed a difference in my skin. It has great anti aging properties in it and gives my skin a really healthy look. The Altchek serum took longer to show a less expressive difference. Not my favorite.
I love the argan oil moisturizer. It smells amazing and leaves me moisturized a lllllll day (the body wash is also amazing). I lave the spray and go to moisturize my back because only an elegant can reach their back and even they have a bit of a struggle. lol
This is my holy grail body wash!!!!! The honey almond is a cream wash and the lavender rosemary is a gel wash. I got the rosemary because the honey almond is hard to find around my way. They have other scents. My absolute favorite is mango lily but I can’t find it anywhere in my area, I did order some on riteaid.com (yup sure did). I did find the sea salt one that I want to try next.
I love these to have in my purse. They both are great to have to moisturize throughout the day.
I’ve had this foundation for ever!!! It was discontinued a few years ago but I would still find them on ebay. This is a really mice foundation. It has a whipped consistence with a powder feeling finish. I’m guessing that they were competing with the revlon color stay whipped. they should have kept this one on the shelf a little longer.
This has been in sooooo many of my posts from favorites to empties. i absolutely love this conceler for face highlighting. It’s amazing and i use it all the time. I’m working on one now and have two more in my backups.
All of these mascaras are in black exept for the firs one. The FYEO, for your eyes only, is in the color royal blue. This is a really nice mascara for a pop of color on the lash. It is cruelty free. The clinique high impact is a really nice mascara that I will repurchase. I didn’t like the primer side of it. the clinique bottom lash mascara has a tiny brush which is perfect for my tiny bottom lashes and outer corner lashes and keeps the mess minimal. Estee Lauder double wear zero smudge mascara….. I HATED IT!!!! It made my lashes crunchy, hard, brittle, dry. And it took all the kings horses and all the kings men to get it off and I still had raccoon eyes in the morning!!!! I have never disliked a product so much. I couldn’t even finish it. Now Lancome grandiose is my holy grail mascara. They make my short straight lashes look like falsies!!! Amazing formula, doesn’t smudge and easy to remove at night. The Lancome Oscillation is another one of my holy grails. the wand vibrates allowing you to coat every lash even if you didn’t know it existed.
I like the elf brow gel. keeps my brow hairs in place. The Lancome brow pencil is the best I have ever used. The formula is very smooth and stays all day without fading. The It Cosmetics YBBB is an amazing pencil as well. very easy to use and the taupe color matches all brow colors.
I like the evian facial spray to use before I tone my face. It takes away the tightness in the skin after washing. It’s also nice for when you are out in the sun and need a little cool down. Mac fix+ is my holy frail. It has glycerin in it which keeps makeup for looking cakey. I also love it to give my foundation a glowing finish, to foil and help my shadows and pigments pop. This product is multi use and I can’t live without it.
Well folks that’s all my empties for now. Thank you all for stopping by and peeking into my trash. Any questions please comment bellow and don’t forget to share, like, and subscribe
Hello folks. I just got back from vaca at the beach yesterday and decided to let my peoples know what I brought beauty wise. i was there for a whole much needed week and this is what I brought:
I used this to wash my face in the am after my shower. This cloth is better for you skin than facial wipes because it does not pull on the skin. it has cleanser built into the mesh cloth that foams when you get the cloth gets wet. It also is a light exfoliated which is perfect for the skin when you are going to be in the sun. After washing my face, I rinse the cleanser out and use the cloth to clean the cleanser off my face. Perfect travel essential.
I use this cleanser at night to detoxify the skin and the citrus has antioxidants which is much needed afar laying and shopping in the sun. I got this sample in my tipsy bag and wanted to try it. Vaca was the perfect time to try it because it’s a sample size to its great for travel. I really like his cleanser and my face felt so clean and fresh after using it.
*not pictured is the rosewater I used as a toner. I didn’t take a pic of it because it lives in a generic spray bottle that I transferred it to because the original bottle doesn’t have a spray and it can leak.
This oil was my face moisturizer for day and night. It’s very light and great for all skin types. Face oils nourish and hydrate dry skin and moisturize and reduces oil production in oily skin. This Lancome oil is luxury at its finest.
I use this eye cream during the day. It has SPF 28 and is very creamy and moisturizing for under the eye and on the lid.
With using oil as my moisturizing, adding bb cream that has moisture in it as well is not to much because the face oil is so light. This bb cream has SPF 20 which is great for the hot weather and lightweight.
Lightweight powder with no added color is great for summer so you won’t look cake or overdone. This is great for setting my bb cream and to touch up shiny areas on the face.
This was the perfect vaca essential. It gave me a great bronzed look on the cheeks and around my hairline. it really warmed up my skin. I will be adding this to my everyday simple makeup look.
This mascara is great for hot summer days. It doesn’t make you lashes crunchy, doesn’t flake, and easy to remove at night.
I use this on my lips day and night. This is great to keep lips moisturized. The sun can really dry out the lips and this was a lifesaver.
This body butter give an amazing glow on the skin. The small light reflecting properties makes your legs and arms glow all day. It is super hydrating and keeps skin plump and soft.
This was great for my poor little sunburnt shoulders and forehead. It keeps moisture in my skin and kept me from peeling like a snake.
These two are a match made in brow heaven. They kept my brows in order!! Love these everyday especially on hot humid days because your brows won’t budge.
These two are my favorite summer scents. I reached for amore more than aqua di gio but I love them both. P.S I had to make sure I spelled Giorgio correctly cause Kim K got down right embarrassed by the company by spelling it wrong lol. I have a lot of typos in my blogs but this will not be one of them.
Well folks thats all of the beauty stash items that I brought to me to the beach. Now I did have soap, doe , and toothpaste but this is beauty items only. If you want to see the toiletries that I brought just comment and I will make another post. Thank you all for stopping by. And you are always welcome to come back.
